Background
Viaggio nel Salento is the name of the design competition that, in 2005, saw
professional architects, undergraduates and postgraduates of architecture engaged
in the design of 15 types of rooms for that which became the Eos Hotel. The creation
was entrusted to contract companies, hence giving rise to contact between creativity
and the problem-solving capacity associated with the production phase.
The competition, a valued source of concepts for hotel rooms loaded with elements
that can be traced outside its walls, led to the tangible result of the construction
of a 3-star hotel, classified in accordance with international standards, for
the purposes of improving the quality of the service provided to the reference
clientele; that is, mid-level businesspeople and tourists. It created a space
where tradition and innovation are on first name terms, a refined structure, at
the vanguard in the panorama of hôtellerie, which conserves little from the concept
of a strictly aesthetic design hotel. |
